I'm a huge film fan ever since I was a child I loved the escapism I would get totally lost in the story, the characters and the sets. The Classic movies are my favourites Gone with the wind, some like it hot, cat on a hot tin roof the list goes on but I do love most films I have a varied taste.
One of the things that I look at in great detail is the film sets the interiors its a bit of a occupational hazard in that I can't help pointing out wallpapers, fabrics and furniture etc that I know (much to my husbands annoyance). I have favourite interiors from films here are a few that I love
This contemporary version of the Charles Dickens novel was directed by Alfonso CuarĂ³n and starring Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert De Niro and Anne Bancroft.
This whole film is a feast to the eyes I love that Alfonso uses various shades of green throughout the movie.
The interior I truly loved was Ms Dinsmoor's rundown old house in Florida you can see that the house was once a very grand mansion the decaying decadence is everywhere.
I don't know anyone that hasn't seen this film and loved it (even my husband) Audrey Hepburn is the ultimate style icon in this film and her apartment is just as famous. The bath sofa and suitcase side table is simply brilliant. How she transforms her apartment later on in the film into what she thinks a Brazilian home should look like.
This ROM com film starring Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson has one major star that overshadows the actors and that is the stunning beach house. This jaw dropping house is set in the Hampton's with its huge kitchen central living and massive bedrooms that look like they are set in different wings of the house. I want to sink in that bed eat chocolates whilst watching old movies then go for a long walk on the beach collecting shells and pebbles!
Having loved the Sex and the city television series and being devastated when it ended I was more than excited when the film came out. What woman couldn't say they hadn't wished for Carrie's walk in wardrobe and her cute little apartment when she gives it a make over it's a retro eclectic girlie dream! Carrie didn't want an engagement ring from Big she wanted a walk in wardrobe for their new apartment and wow what a wardrobe it was.......
Sofia Coppola's film is simply breathtaking and was one of the main reasons why I had to visit Versailles. The candy colours, the costumes and the set dressing is decadent as you would expect from the extravagant lifestyle of the king and queen of France who lost their heads for their complete lack of care for their people. The dreamy sometimes isolated view of her life in Versailles when she first arrives to her wild parties and over indulgence is a roller coaster of visions.
Have you got a favourite film interior?

I love the Great Expectations House! I've actually been there twice! Of course it was much better kept when I was there! How about the Father of the Bride house! A-MA-ZING!

That's amazing that you have been to the actual house. Oh yes I forgot about the father of the bride now that is a lovely house especially when they dress it for the wedding with the marquee
